- Diamond Peak, the community-owned ski area, opened in 1966 and is about 23 miles from Reno.
- A small town of 9,462 residents (2020 census) at about 6,350 feet, named for the incline railway that hauled timber for the Comstock mines.
For owners nearby, this sale matters in a practical way. When appraisers and buyers size up a home, they lean on recent sales of similar homes close by. 563 Tyner Way and the sales after it are reference points for the homes around them.
